Inside the Experience
Nestled along Big Bear Lake’s scenic Big Bear Blvd, Alpine Country Coffee Shop offers a genuine slice of mountain comfort. This charming diner stands out for its warm, inviting atmosphere where both locals and visitors can unwind after outdoor adventures or a long workday. The blend of classic comfort food and attentive service creates a space that feels like a second home.
Dining here is an experience that marries simplicity with flavor. Take the French toast combo n°1 or the Eggs Benedict with Canadian ham—both dishes consistently draw praise for their quality and taste. Each plate speaks to a careful balance of traditional breakfast staples elevated by fresh, hearty ingredients. The French Vanilla Cappuccino deserves a special mention; it’s richly brewed, perfectly creamy, and a favorite among regulars.
The menu extends beyond breakfast classics. The Reuben sandwich, featuring tender corned beef and tangy sauerkraut, and the hearty Patty Melt on crispy rye bread showcase the diner’s commitment to well-crafted comfort food. Pastrami burgers paired with crisp fries provide a satisfying meal after a day of hiking or snowboarding, capturing that all-American diner vibe without the greasy spoon clichés.
What truly enhances the experience is the environment and service. Guests appreciate the laid-back yet efficient staff, who make you feel welcome whether dining solo or with family and pets on the outdoor patio. The rustic, cozy décor—complete with slightly worn furniture—adds to the ambiance, perfectly complementing a day spent in nature. It’s a place that invites you to linger, read, and savor each moment without feeling rushed.
In sum, Alpine Country Coffee Shop shines through its combination of quality comfort food, authentic diner charm, and heartfelt service. For anyone exploring Big Bear Lake or simply craving a dependable breakfast or lunch, this spot promises a satisfying culinary and cultural experience in a truly alpine setting.
“ I went to the outdoor patio with my wife and our dog, the staff was very nice and kind, the service was 5 stars and the food too, we had the French toast combo n°1 and the Eggs Benedict with Canadian ham, the food was very nice I don't regret and we are definitely coming back for another good food. The French Vanilla Cappuccino is really good by the way. ”
“ I had the most pleasant meal here on a Friday night after working on my cabin all day. My pastrami burger was cooked well, and the fries were nice and crispy. This place has an all-American diner feel to it without dipping into the greasy spoon category. Service was friendly and prompt. They let me stay and read after my meal and didn’t rush me out to turn the table. Right off the main road thru town without having to go all the way West past the traffic of the Village area. They took the time to decorate for Valentines Day and manage to keep the mountain town affect. Next time I’ll try the birria plate. ”
“ I like my diners simple: good comfort food, coffee with refills, cosy, even a little shabby furniture, and efficient waiters. That place was exactly what I needed after a day of snowboarding. ”
“ A nice little diner with good food. The staff was super attentive. You can sit outside with your dog. ”
“ Cute diner for breakfast! Food was fine/good, classic breakfast food but loved the vibes of the place. The French vanilla cappuccino was really tasty. ”
